VcFlo-Multi-Stage Multi-Path Velocity Control Trim by Mascot Valves

The MASCOT VcFlo trim can be used in both gases and liquids and is effective in reducing noise and velocity in gases as well as effectively eliminates cavitation damage and reduces the hydrodynamic noise in liquids. The VcFlo trim is carefully designed by MASCOT engineering team for each application using their decades of experience in Severe Service control valve technologies. It uses a combination of technologies like sudden expansion and contraction, frictional loss caused by small passages, sudden directional changes, velocity reduction, staged pressure drop and frequency shifting.

The VcFlo trim is used where the process conditions demand more stages than what the MegaFlo or CavFlo trims offer.

  • Sudden Expansion and Contraction Technology In VcFlo trims have a flow path such that it causes the fluid to contract and then suddenly expand multiple times causing staged pressure drop.
  • Torturous Path: The VcFlo trim path is so designed that the fluid faces sudden directional changes while it moves within the stacked disc flow path.
  • Fine Control of the Pressure Drop: The restrictions in the flow path are carefully designed such that the flow area increases gradually after each contraction ensuring that a higher-pressure drop is taken in the outer stage rather than the inner stages.
  • Frequency Shift Technology: At the outlet of the trim the flow is further divided into small streams designed so as to ensure that the optimum frequency shifting effect is achieved for additional noise reduction.
  • Flow Division: The flow is divided into multiple passages and streams and is caused to pass through small passages so that it looses energy due to frictional losses generated within the trim. This also reduces the damage potential of the fluid within the trim.
  • Specially Engineered Solutions: The VcFlo trims are specially engineered trims for each application after careful review by the engineering team ensuring that the trim is tailor-made for the application. They are designed to solve the most complex control valve problems in the most demanding applications.
