SmartFlo™ – Smart Positioner

SmartFlo-Smart Digital Positioner by Mascot Valves

MASCOT SmartFlo Smart Valve Positioner accurately controls valve stroke in response to an input signal of 4-20mA from the controller. Built-in micro-processor optimizes the positioner’s performance and provides unique functions such as Auto-Calibration, PID Control, and HART Protocol Communications. The positioner features a quick and easy “auto” calibration interface. The different models of the SmartFlo work on Flapper Nozzle Torque Motor technology for fail safe options as well as Piezo Technology for fail freeze options with zero steady state air consumption.

  • Digital Control: Equipped with a microprocessor the SmartFlo utilizes digital control techniques for precise positioning. The advanced PID control ensures optimum performance of the control valve minimizing overshoot, improving response time and enhancing stability.
  • HART & Diagnostics: The SmartFlo has HART 7 capability for configuration and communication over HART interface. The positioner is also equipped with advanced self-diagnostics features.
  • Partial Stroke Testing: The positioner is equipped with PST facility which ensure that the valve is ready for emergencies by checking the stiction issues in valves that stay at a set value for extended periods of time.
  • Air Supply & Consumption: The positioner is designed to withstand 100 psi (7 bar). It is insensitive to supply pressure fluctuations so a change in supply pressure does not affect the output. The steady state air consumption is just 2.5 LPM @ 20 psi (1.4 Bar) supply.
  • Position Feedback and Switch Options: The positioner can be equipped with a 4-20mA position transmitter and with mechanical or proximity switches for additional position feedback.
  • Bypass Option: The positioner is equipped with a bypass valve and an Auto/Manual switch giving the user an ability to bypass the positioner and manually operate the valve in case of a positioner malfunction.
  • Ease of Maintenance:Ease in maintenance because of the simplicity of the design and modular parts.
