Low-noise and low-vibration operation has excellent heat transfer rates thanks to the large surface area and greatly mixes water and steam.
Steam conditioning valve manufacturer Mascot stands out with a remarkable turndown ratio and a user-friendly and maintenance-free design while ensuring that the water is sprayed into the highly turbulent area for effective evaporation of the atomized water.

The SCV consists of the water injection sleeve at the valve outlet with multiple fixed-holed nozzles around the periphery for enhanced heat transfer before water injection. Available in sizes from 1″ to 48″ and rated from 150# to 4500#, it features a stainless sleeve for thermal stress management and exhibits a commendable turndown ratio of 80:1.

  • Exceptional Turndown: Even though the SCV uses a mechanical spray technology which is maintenance free due to no moving parts the turndown of the SCV is 80:1 due to its precise injection into the highly turbulent steam area.
  • Mechanical Spray Technology: Utilizes a mechanical spray system to introduce water into the superheated steam, without the use of nozzles promoting safe, effective and controlled temperature reduction.
  • Extended Mean Time Between Maintenance: Due to the special design where in the cooling water is injected in the outlet of the valve and not the belly of the valve the trim components are protected from thermal stresses and pitting. This results in extended MTBM as well as reduced needs for expensive replacement parts during overhaul.
  • Peripheral Injection: The desuperheating sleeve injects water from the periphery towards the center of the pipe to completely avoid thermal stresses in the downstream pipe.
  • Precise Temperature Control: The desuperheater is designed to provide precise control over the temperature of the superheated steam, ensuring it meets the required process conditions.
  • Multiple Body Configurations: The SCV body can be standard inline type or angle type both of which can have expanded outlets making this a versatile offering within the same model.
  • Energy Efficiency: Aims to contribute to energy efficiency by maintaining steam temperatures at desired levels, optimizing overall system performance.
